INGREDIENTS 454g/1lb granulated sugar, 140ml/¼ pint evaporated milk, 2 tbsp honey, ¼ tsp salt & 55g/2oz butter. Method: Boil sugar, salt and milk for 5 minutes. Add honey and boil to 'soft ball' stage 240º F. Add butter and allow to stand until lukewarm. Beat until creamy, pour into a buttered dish. When nearly set, mark into squares. Display on a white paper plate with a doily, covered with polythene or cling film. * Please note these classes refer to the Massey Trophy - where points are awarded in this show and the Dorchester Show - the exhibitor who gains the most points at both shows, will win the Trophy |
